Founded in 2016 by three visionary Hungarian entrepreneurs, Airwin Flight School set out to transform aviation education in Hungary. Robert Bánki, a transportation engineer and pilot instructor, teamed up with two exceptional partners: István Győri, a highly skilled military pilot and respected instructor with a strong focus on safety and precision, and Gábor Komár, a transportation engineer and private pilot with deep entrepreneurial expertise. United by a shared passion for aviation, they aimed to create a modern, innovative flight school.

Together, they laid the foundation for Airwin by building a solid IT infrastructure, expanding the aircraft fleet with both pre-owned and new planes, and forming partnerships with universities and airlines to ensure that their graduates would be equipped with the skills and industry connections needed for success. Airwin’s first training flight took place in Esztergom on August 8, 2016, marking the beginning of its journey as one of Hungary’s leading aviation training institutions.

Today, many of Airwin’s graduates fly for top airlines like Sunexpress, LOT, Ryanair, Wizzair, and Turkish Airlines. In 2019, Airwin moved to Tököl Airport to accommodate its growing operations. Now, in collaboration with Milton Friedmann University and Óbuda University’s Bánki Faculty, the school continues to offer high-quality commercial pilot training, grounded in safety, innovation, and real-world experience.
